The Company:

A well-established healthcare institution based in Dubai.

The Role:

The General Manager will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the organisation’s long term strategy with a view to creating shareholder value.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Implement and improve the operational systems, processes and policies to facilitate the most effective and efficient delivery organisation, specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organisational planning.
  • Leading complex negotiations and business development initiatives.
  • Gather, analyse and use information to make service changes to enhance performance, including monitor hospital activity and reporting trends.
  • Responsible for the overall profitability of the company.
  • Manage the financial performance of the delivery team against budget.
  • To promote users through high standards of professional practice which are conducive to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs of the service users.
  • Take full professional accountability in respect of the clinical management of all staff.
  • Understand and apply all contractual requirements to planned and reactive tasks. 
  • Demonstrate leadership of your staff team and to act as a positive role model.
  • Ensure achievement of Company Standards.
  • Work with HR to recruit, appoint and deploy care, administrative and domestic staff according to the company requirements and policy.
  • Ensure that there is a good communication with and between staff and to arrange regular staff and Head of Department meetings.
  • To ensure that effective induction, supervision and assessment of staff is carried out and that training needs are identified and met.
  • To work with HR team to make sure staff rotas are efficient and effective.
  • To maintain strong connections within the medical community
  • Enforce any disciplinary procedures and dismissals when necessary.

Qualifications & Desired Skills:

  • Degree in Business or any related field
  • At least 7 years of total experience in a managerial position – preferably with at least 3 of those being in the UAE
  • Previous experience of managing in a complex organization of 75 staff or more
  • Proven ability to grow a healthcare business
  • Experience of managing budgets
  • Experience of Managing Health and Safety environment
  • Previous demonstration of the ability to market successfully
  • Computer literacy, including the use of word processing and other software packages
  • Genuine interest in working within a caring environment
  • Team Player
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
