The Company:

An early stage investor, accelerator and corporate innovation platform with global headquarters in Silicon Valley and a regional office in Abu Dhabi.


The Role:

The Innovation Manager is a key member of our team, assisting in evaluating investments by analyzing market trends, tracking competitive landscapes, performing company related due diligence and working with corporate partners to obtain their innovation goals. You will work directly with The Company’s ADGM team, with a focus on the HealthTech program. In particular, you will be tasked with supporting and tracking pilot projects undertaken by our partners and various startups. You should have a clear overall understanding of the health industry and keeping up to date with the latest disruptive technologies in the space.


Major Responsibilities:

New Business Development

?     Source Seed and Series A startups for investment as well as corporate partners

?     Oversee the lifecycle of a startup in The Company process: identification, due diligence, cultivation, presentation, successful pilot to funding as appropriate

?     Evangelize The Company to all potential network partners including startups, investors, corporate members within all verticals

?     Identify business development, licensing and strategic investment opportunities for corporate members within The Company’s ecosystem

?     Ensure deeper due diligence process is completed, leveraging The Company resources and Jumpstart resources

?     Connect corporate partners primarily with the highest-quality start-ups who are vetted and willing to participate in the Abu Dhabi ecosystem

?     Understand all of the stakeholders in the pilot process (clinical champions, legal team, procurement team, and IT team)


Client Retention

?     Provide event production and logistical support for workshops and deep dive sessions and other events as part of the accelerator

?     Collaborate with corporate executives in deal flow sessions

?     Identify and solve problems and/or source startups in key areas, especially outside of the core competencies of the corporate partners

?     Analyze start-up team strengths, market size, technology and business model

?     Develop end-to-end process recommendations to increase the frequency and success of health system pilots


Relationship Management and Research

?     Manage relationships with corporate partners from the HealthTech program

?     Work with each startup who joins the platform to understand their individual metrics for success, willingness to partner, and potential costs and benefits of working with corporate partners

?     Mentor start-ups in the program on taking product to market, raising money, scaling, and all other ad hoc business needs

?     Work with corporations to identify areas for mentoring

?     Conduct research to identify new markets and industry sectors, conducting in-depth business analysis to identifying new competitive opportunities

?     Identify and ensure access to resources, including local, regional, and The Company global


Desired Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Graduated from a top tier university, preferably in business administration, finance, computer science or related fields. We also consider candidates with an excellent academic background in other fields. MBA/advanced degree is a plus
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Experience/knowledge of healthcare system and technology, preferred
  • Communication – Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal, oral, and written)
  • Must be proficient with public speaking
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving – Must be able to use logical reasoning to reach solutions
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues, prospects and industry contacts
  • Career driven individual with passion for technology, entrepreneurship, investments and tech start-ups
  • Project Management – ability to manage several projects with VC partners and startups
  • Self-Starter – ability to start projects or plan events with minimal to no supervision An outstanding ability to connect on a personal level and build professional relationships, leading to a strong network in the, MENA, European or US startup ecosystem
  • Confidence and poise in interactions with founders, and executives in the tech, VC and innovation ecosystem
  • Strong drive and the ability to self-direct and organize – your work and time is open-ended by nature and you must be able to identify and execute on opportunities in a flexible environment with great autonomy
  • Preferable experience with valuating and dealing with Regional Healthcare Groups.
