As we close in on our first round of funding we are looking for a VP of Engineering to be part of the journey.
The role responsibilities will adjust as we move forward but it will be looking for the following responsibilities
Program management and engineering execution – responsible for ensuring that the product vision is realized through excellence in execution. There is typically an overall program plan that incorporates all inter-dependencies between functional disciplines (e.g. mechanical, electrical, controls, software), which in turn is a part of a company program plan that incorporates inter-dependencies between departments (e.g. engineering, marketing, business development)
Technical leadership – the VP Engineering will be responsible for co-developing the technical strategy with the CEO, and for developing and maintaining a technical roadmap that will continue to innovate from a technical standpoint. The VP Engineering may personally serve as a systems architect, or may assign another engineer to assume that role.
Strategy development – the VP Engineering will work with the CEO and with others as they join in further the strategy and development of the company further departments (e.g. VP Marketing, VP Business Development, VP Manufacturing and Ops)
Personnel management – will be managing the team of coders if needed in their quest for an ever better platform
Qualification and Skills
Strong organizational leadership skills.
Has to have experience in a successful Startup
Extensive experience in working with stakeholders to create hiring strategies to develop quality teams.
Experience in recruiting Engineers and contributors.
Previous working experience in software design and developing customer-orientated platforms.
Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
Must be knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and change management.
