About the Role
We are a dynamic and innovative fintech company dedicated to digitalising the way individuals and businesses buy property. Both our tech and our people enable a seamless, stress-free service for our customers, allowing us to help them navigate the complexities of the modern financial landscape. We are committed to staying at the forefront of fintech innovation and are seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology team and drive our technological strategy forward.
As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platforms. You will be responsible for leading our technology team, overseeing the development of innovative solutions, and driving the company’s technological vision. The CTO will collaborate closely with other senior executives to align technology initiatives with overall business goals and ensure the scalability, security, and performance of our systems.
Responsibilities:
Technology Leadership:
- Provide visionary leadership in the development and execution of the company’s technology strategy.
- Drive innovation and ensure the continuous improvement of our technology stack.
- Establish and communicate clear technology roadmaps to achieve business objectives.
Team Management:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing technology team, inhouse and remote, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and excellence.
- Oversee training and performance management of staff within the department.
- Work with Talent Acquisition to hire outstanding talent.
- Increase team productivity by adopting best agile practices, adopting new technologies and tools, and introduce a new onboarding process and technical onboarding guide.
- Build a Data team to enable data-driven decisions and bring excellent data visibility across all business units.
Product Development:
- Lead the design and development of our products and platforms alongside our Product Manager, ensuring they meet the highest quality and security standards.
- Collaborate closely with product management to prioritise and deliver features that align with market demands.
Technology Architecture:
- Architect and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure software and infrastructure systems.
- Implement best practices for data privacy and compliance, particularly in the Real Estate/Mortgage sector.
Innovation and Research:
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
- Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning within the technology team.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Make strategic decisions regarding outsourcing, partnerships, and vendor relationships.
Risk Management:
- Implement robust security measures to safeguard customer data and financial transactions.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Data Privacy & Compliance
- Outline Company’s own proprietary frameworks according to the requirements of the Data Protection Law’s in the countries where we operate.
General
- Ensure Company assets are operating efficiently and with the required securities in place.
- Understands the following: Javascript, Node.js, and typescript, SQL / NoSQL, REST APIs, AWS / Google cloud.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a tech start up environment would be an advantage
- Proven experience as a technology leader in the fintech or financial services sector.
- Strong track record of delivering innovative, scalable, and secure software solutions.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Deep understanding of fintech regulations and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional problem-solving and strategic-thinking abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Works well with other departments, must be able to see the bigger picture for the company vision and not just from a technical perspective.
- Experience on bulling and scaling teams to 50+, onsite and remotely.
- Financial Literacy – displays full awareness of financial metrics, P&L cost buckets, and a deep understanding of engineering costs.
- Analytical – Measures accomplishments by specific, measurable results.
