A minimum of a 4-year degree in Translation/Interpreting/Linguistics or equivalent from a reputable academic institution.
3-5 years proven record of relevant experience in TranslationandSimultaneous/ Consecutive Interpreting in government/private sector (Policing background is an asset).
Ability to render intact texts in language combination across a variety of subject matter areas including administrative, academic, policing, HR, leadership, economic, political and other fields.
Ability to interpret, simultaneously, in a variety of contexts and audiences.
Ability to interpret, consecutively, in a variety of contexts and audiences.
Competent in using CAT tools (Preferably MemoQ)
A proven ability to work quickly and efficiently with accuracy and attention to details.
In-depth understanding of the UAE community & cultural nuances.
Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling and punctuation errors.
Using specialist dictionaries, thesauruses and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words.
Conducting extensive research using appropriate tools and methods for terminology extraction and conceptual equivalence.
Liaising with clients and various internal & external stakeholders.
Consulting with subject-matter experts in specialist areas.
Adhering to translation-quality standards and QA policy.
Flexibility to work in different locations across various Emirates on short-term projects.
