Job brief:

A leading developer in Iraq any is developing a mixed-use project consisting of residential, hospitality and commercial development, and are looking for a candidate to be responsible for overseeing the complete construction process by handling planning, budgeting, and making key decisions to ensure the project is completed on budget and in a timely manner. The ideal candidate should have experience working with international hotel brands. The Project, including construction of multiple towers was started pre-covid and was put on hold it is now being restarted.  close to 500,000 built up area.sqm

 

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion.
  • Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance.
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
  • Ensuring the delivery of high-quality work within contract timescales.
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
  • Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
  • Review the work progress on a daily basis
  • quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
  • Working in an office and on a construction site.
  • Comply with legal requirements, building and safety codes, and other regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc. to determine the specifications of the project.
  • Working along the side the JW marriot hotel group

 

Desired Skills and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to construction (i.e., engineering, architecture, construction).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in construction and excellent technical drawing skills.
  • Proven experience as a construction project manager over large projects preferrable with hotel construction experience
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and software programs such as AutoCAD, etc.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Problem-solving.
  • PMP or equivalent certification.
  • Fluent English is a must and Arabic or Kurdish language is preferable.
  • International experience is essential
