Company –  Currently this is a small family office based in Dubai with large operations in Iraq.

Job Purpose:

Initial the role will be handling office expenses and personal financial aspects of the Chairman, however, the family looks to establish businesses in the UAE soon.

So currently the candidate would need to establish financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information, and overseeing accounting staff. … Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls.

Supervise the daily activities in the accounting department, analyze, record, track and audit financial information, and oversee accounting staff members based in Iraq.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Maintaining accurate and up to date records of all financial transactions.
  • Supervision the day-­‐to-­‐day operation of the accounting team.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and, annual financial report.
  • Handle full spectrum of financial and cost accounting role e.g., forecasting, budgeting.
  • Perform full set of accounts and ensure timely closing of accounts.
  • Perform project cost forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring, and controls;
  • Review & approve payment vouchers & journal entries;
  • Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and working closely with the operations and project teams in analyzing margins, variances and cost analysis.
  • Issue project cost reports for review and approval.
  • Develop and maintain internal control, and effective accounting system and policies.
  • Support CFO in ensuring that intercompany cost allocations are in line with management agreements.
  • Establish and maintain systems for cost-sensitivity analysis and early-warning of cost-overruns.
  • Work consultatively with the respective departments on cost reduction initiatives.
  • Advising on the improvement of financial management system, internal control system.
  • Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
  • Ensuring appropriate financial control in compliance with Company legislation.
  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
  • Meet financial accounting objectives.
  • facilitate payroll processing.
  • Any other task required from the management.

Skills and Requirements

  • A finance based degree from a recognised university
  • ACCA or equivalent certification
  • At least 5 years of work experience
  • Experience using SAP accounting software
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
  • Please note salary for the role is 8 – 10,000 AED monthly
