The Role:

The Director, will act as the shareholder representative on the various boards and committees in line with respective DOAs. He/she will be responsible for overseeing the strategic and business planning efforts across portfolio companies. Additionally, the Director, will also oversee the performance management process of the portfolio Companies.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Set overall strategy in coordination with IC and ExCom
  • Represent the shareholder on the various boards and committees, as required
  • Work closely with portfolio company CEOs and management teams to ensure setting and articulating their strategies, developing their business plans, and setting and tracking business performance KPIs
  • Identify and assess strategic opportunities (including acquisitions and exits) and new platform opportunities
  • Coordinate with portfolio management on potential investment and divestment opportunities
  • Present feasible opportunities to ExCom and/or Investment Committee for endorsement if required.
  • Provide strategic perspective to portfolio company management on challenges faced by them
  • Oversee the setting of KPIs and targets in coordination with portfolio companies’ management
  • Oversee the implementation of remedial action plans by the portfolio companies’ management teams
  • Undertake special assignments as requested by the ExCom
  • Oversee the handover process of portfolio companies from the accross various platforms

 

Qualifications & Desired Skills:

  • 15+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity investments, management consulting or corporate strategy in a leading international organization.
  • Ports & Logistics industry experience is a must
  • Experience with a leading investment company is preferred
