Company – A leading pediatric Therapy Center.

Reporting to: Head of Occupational Therapy Department

ROLE SUMMARY: Under the direction of and reporting to the Head of the occupational Therapy Department, the Pediatric Senior Occupational Therapist is responsible for conducting occupational. therapy evaluations for complex children visiting the center, providing appropriate interventions that will meet their individual needs, developing programming to promote development of skills in clinic and home setting and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess and treat motor, cognitive, perceptual motor, self-care and sensory processing difficulties in the following domains: Gross and fine motor skills, Sensory processing skills ,Cognitive/Executive Function skills Visual perceptual skills, Visual-motor integration and handwriting skills Self-Care, independence and autonomy
  • Write detailed Assessment/Evaluation reports, progress and discharge reports according to the

Centre’s policy.

  • Create, implement and revise the individual treatment program.
  • Instruct and advise parents on an occupational therapy treatment plan; Assess and recommend. appropriate seating systems and mobility.
  • Maintain records and case notes.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient’s progress.
  • Work with clients on a one-to-one basis, and/or in groups, to deliver therapy using an interdisciplinary approach with co-treatments with other disciplines utilized when appropriate.
  • Consult and work with team members of the multidisciplinary team to incorporate appropriate strategies and goals into the child’s plan to ensure the child’s fullest development,
  • Maintain. confidentiality about clients and their families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Education: BA in Occupational Therapy. Master’s or Doctorate Degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum Experience: More than seven years’ experience as a pediatric Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience with Moderate to Severe Conditions
  • Post graduate qualifications in Neurodevelopmental Therapy and Sensory Integration
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Visio.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of rehabilitative treatment techniques as utilized by the generalist in treating the following age groups: Infant (30 days to 1 yr.) and child (1-13 years)
  • Knowledge of the regulations and practice standards of Pediatric Occupational Therapy
  • Knowledge of standardized and non-standardized assessments for moderate to severe conditions
  • Knowledge of equipment and instruments used in daily activities.
  • Familiar working with children with Cortical Visual Impairment advantageous, Knowledge of assistive technology and alternative communication systems advantageous

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Regular contact with the Directors and managers at the clinic.
  • Frequent contacts with the Interdisciplinary team (Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational
  • Therapist, Physiotherapist).
  • Ongoing contact with Parents and/or Caregivers via HH APP and face to face.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Physical effort involving carrying young children when necessary.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend down and sit. Work with the child may be at the table or on the floor depending on the child’s age and targeted program. Managing suspension equipment necessary during evaluation and treatment sessions

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: AED20,000.00 – AED22,000.00 per month
